1st - 3rd Grade

Problem-Solvers in Action

Step into a learning space where curiosity leads and joyful discovery is at the heart of everything we do!

In this hands-on enrichment class for 1st–3rd graders, students dive into meaningful, project-based learning experiences that nurture critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.

Each lesson begins with a question or challenge—something puzzling or intriguing that sparks curiosity.

Students explore manipulatives, test out ideas, and collaborate to find solutions before we ever introduce formal instruction. Once they've made discoveries on their own, we connect the dots together through direct teaching that builds on what they’ve uncovered.

With games, guided practice, and playful challenges, students solidify their understanding while having fun.

When they’re ready, they move into independent practice that builds fluency and accuracy, all while feeling empowered and excited about what they’ve learned.

Students aren't just learning concepts—they're learning how to think, explore, and problem-solve with confidence and joy.

Living Machines

Mondays 1:00-2:00 PM

$240 per semester (15 weeks)

plus cost of specimens

Your body is the most incredible machine ever built—and in Living Machines, students will dive deep into the fascinating world of human anatomy to discover how it all works!

Each week, students will explore one of the major systems of the human body—like the muscular, skeletal, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems—through interactive experiments, creative projects, movement-based learning, and collaborative investigations.

In Living Machines, students will:
- Build working models of joints and muscles to understand movement and strength
- Construct blood mixtures, track their own pulse, and map the journey of oxygen through the body
- Design and test balloon lungs to see breathing in action
- Follow the path of food with a "digestive system obstacle course" and enzyme experiments
- Assemble skeletons and learn how bones protect, support, and grow with us

Along the way, students will develop a rich understanding of how each system functions, how they all work together, and how to take care of their "living machine" through healthy habits. Every lesson is rooted in curiosity and creativity because the best way to understand our bodies is to explore them from the inside out!

Perfect for curious kids who love science, movement, and discovery, Living Machines is a dynamic blend of biology, body awareness, and hands-on fun.

In ARTventure, students unleash their creativity through hands-on exploration and joyful self-expression. We dive into the world of art by studying famous artists and their unique styles, then experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques to create our own masterpieces.

Our focus is on Process Art, where the journey of creation matters more than the final product. Students learn to express their thoughts, feelings, and individuality through art, all while building confidence, emotional awareness, and creative thinking along the way.

Each season, we proudly showcase our young artists' work in four gallery-style

Art Shows (Fall, Winter, Spring, and End-of-Year), celebrating the growth and imagination of every student.

But the spotlight doesn’t stop at the canvas! On the stage, students build self-confidence and communication skills as they prepare and perform a multi-cultural piece in our World Culture Celebration, which is a whole school collaboration.

From brushstrokes to center stage, this program helps students discover their voice, build courage, and shine in their own unique way.
