Hi! I'm Ms. K!

I'm your guide to joyful and magical learning adventures!

Welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm Katrina, though most know me as Ms. K. For over two decades, I’ve been on an incredible journey as an educator creating learning spaces where kids feel seen, heard, and genuinely excited to show up.

The Learning Grove is the dream I kept sketching on napkins and scribbling in notebooks and I can't wait to share it with you.

Throughout my career, I've become known for my hands-on, curiosity-driven teaching style filled with joyful and most times gloriously messy exploration. I believe in learning by doing where kids feel empowered to ask questions, test ideas, and dive into discovery.

My goal is to build a warm, creative space where children feel safe to take risks, knowing that mistakes aren’t failures, but stepping stones to deeper learning.

This is a place where questions matter more than answers, creativity is currency, and kids are encouraged to think big and take the lead. If you’re looking for a place where learning feels like an adventure (with plenty of laughter along the way), then you’re in the right spot.

At home, my life is just as full of wonder and energy! I share it with my husband, my amazing in-laws,

a lively menagerie of animals including,10 chickens, 4 bunnies, 3 turtles, 2 cats, 3 dogs, a crested gecko, a fish and an adult human daughter.

Hi! I'm Ms. Jenny!

Hello! My name is Jennifer Brown, and I’m so excited to meet you!

My family and I live on ten beautiful acres in Lincoln,

where I enjoy life with my husband and our three little ones. Having grown up locally,

I feel incredibly fortunate to work in this wonderful community that I’ve always called home.

I’m a credentialed teacher with ten years of experience in diverse educational settings, including traditional public classrooms, homeschool enrichment programs, summer camps, and private tutoring. No matter the setting, my passion remains the same—creating a safe, nurturing space where children can thrive academically and socially while feeling free to be themselves.

Outside of teaching, I love bike riding, camping, singing, crafting, horseback riding, and spending quality time with friends and family. Most of all, I truly love both teaching and learning! It brings me so much joy to guide children on their educational journey, and I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s growth and development.

Hi! I'm Ms. Amy!

Hello! My name is Amy, and I’m so thrilled to meet you!

I believe kids thrive when learning is fun, active, and hands-on, and I love being part of that process.

As a mom of two teens and a pet lover with two dogs and a cat, I bring patience, care, and flexibility to every setting.

Hi! I'm Ms. Diane!

My name is Miss Diane, and I’m so beyond excited to be joining and working with the amazing Miss K and Miss Amy and Miss Jenny at the Learning Grove!

An alumni of Sacramento State University, I earned both a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a K-6 Multi-Subject Teaching Credential with a multicultural emphasis, while there.  I come with teaching experience that spans 14 years of elementary education with the Roseville City School District, including 10 years as a kindergarten educator. During my time as a kindergarten teacher I was blessed to have worked with countless mentors, amazing partners and collaborative teams. One of the most invaluable opportunities given was my training in Best Practices for early literacy skills. These skills include print concepts and phonemic awareness (rhyming, blending, sound isolation), early writing strategies, story elements, and shared/guided reading.

When I think of my philosophy about education and learning, I consider both my years of experience as a teacher and as a mom. It is my belief that children thrive in an environment where they feel safe, nurtured, loved and valued…a learning space that allows for organic development of skills, all the while fostering social, emotional and physical growth.  I believe children need opportunities to explore, discover and make connections using creative, hands-on and engaging experiences.  As an educator I feel it’s our responsibility and privilege to not only instill in our students a desire to learn, but also inspire them to recognize their potential, so that they too see themselves as important contributors to our world!  I’m so honored to be joining The Learning Grove community where that mindset and commitment are also shared and valued!

I have been a resident of Roseville for more than 20 years. It is here I call “home” and where my husband and I raised our daughter.  She recently turned 19 and is a college sophomore studying courses in child development and psychology. We are so beyond proud of her and in awe of the amazing light she brings to this world!  As a mom I was so grateful to have opportunities to volunteer in and out of the classroom over the years.  I especially enjoyed my experiences serving as art and music docents. To watch children discover their artistic voice and grow confident in expressing was inspiring!  When I think of favorites that describe me I would have to include anything snoopy, lavender or chocolate!  Some of my most favorite things to do include listening to music, taking trips to the mountains, spending time with my family and friends and sharing family game nights!

I am so excited to share this new adventure at The Learning Grove with all of its amazing families!  I feel especially privileged to share in the nurturing of all those children planted and taking root here, and to watch them flourish and grow!
