Class Offerings

At The Learning Grove, our class structure is intentionally designed with mixed-age groups,
Kindergarten through 6th Grade, to foster collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful peer learning. We believe children thrive in diverse, community-centered environments where they can both teach and be taught.

Older students naturally take on leadership roles. They become mentors and they model curiosity, kindness, and confidence, while younger students learn by observing and rising to meet new challenges. This dynamic builds a strong sense of community, empathy, and teamwork.

To ensure every child receives developmentally appropriate instruction, our daily schedule includes intentional breakout times where students are grouped by age. While younger students might be listening to a story or engaging in playful phonics activities, older students are diving into journaling, working on writing projects, or exploring more complex topics. This thoughtful blend of multi-age collaboration and targeted instruction supports every learner, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a space where everyone has something to give and something to gain.

At The Learning Grove, every day has its own unique theme, whether it’s science, art, literacy, entrepreneurship, or hands-on history. When you sign up for a class day, you’re actually getting two complementary classes in one. Each day flows in two connected parts, with each class enriching the other. Students get to dig into the theme in different ways. They are creating, imagining, investigating, and exploring, so learning feels deeper, fuller,
and more fun.

TK/Kindergarten Program: Our TK/Kindergarten students participate in a two-day program on Mondays and Wednesdays that blends hands-on learning in Language Arts, Creative Expression, Science, and Art. Students explore early literacy, storytelling, experiments, and creative projects in a fun, integrated way. Families can also add Tuesdays and Thursdays for an expanded week of history, cooking, and math adventures!

1st–6th Grade Program: Students in 1st–6th grade can choose one or more days per week to explore hands-on, theme-based learning. Each day focuses on integrated subjects like Language Arts & Creative Expression, Living History & Social Studies, Science & Art, or become entrepreneurs in Real-World Math, allowing students to dive deep into projects, experiments, and creative challenges. This flexible structure encourages curiosity, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving while letting families tailor the schedule to their child’s interests.
