Class Offerings

At The Learning Grove, our class structure is intentionally designed with mixed-age groups,
Kindergarten through 5th Grade (6th graders may be admitted on a case-by-case basis, particularly if they have a sibling participating in the same class), to foster collaboration, mentorship, and meaningful peer learning. We believe children thrive in diverse, community-centered environments where they can both teach and be taught.

Older students naturally take on leadership roles. They become mentors and they model curiosity, kindness, and confidence, while younger students learn by observing and rising to meet new challenges. This dynamic builds a strong sense of community, empathy, and teamwork.

To ensure every child receives developmentally appropriate instruction, our daily schedule includes intentional breakout times where students are grouped by age. While younger students might be listening to a story or engaging in playful phonics activities, older students are diving into journaling, working on writing projects, or exploring more complex topics. This thoughtful blend of multi-age collaboration and targeted instruction supports every learner, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a space where everyone has something to give and something to gain.

Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. ~ Benjamin Franklin
